Not being too familiar with the Australian minting process yet, I would like you to take a look at this penny doubling. Is this just a form of Machine Doubling, or something else.

Looks like Machine Doubling, try this site for some predecimal info and pics.
Or this one for the decimal info.

not being sure yet of your minting process and types of machines used I thought I'd ask. It did seem to be Machine Doubling to me also, how common is this in the penny series. I know in the US cents, Machine Doubling is a very common thing.
