Cross-eyed Pillar of the Community United States 849 Posts	Posted 02/26/2015 1:47 pm I was going through some of My Fathers collection and found this Three Cent Nickel. I'm not to sure as to what happen here.It was either stamped twice,or,the die was about to come apart.How did this one get so much damage? The front looks like maybe die clashing and possibly die chip on the reverse? Report this Post to the Staff

Then I found this: http://coins.ha.com/itm/three-cent-.../1122-7718.s Yours appears to be the same die pair by comparison of what I can see for cracking, in terminal condition. Perhaps a later clashing event. Need to look at this one for a while. Report this Post to the Staff

Cross-eyed Pillar of the Community United States 849 Posts	Posted 02/26/2015 8:15 pm Yah,I was amazed at all that was going on with this coin. So I thought I would ask, and get an expert opinion. After registering, I took a closer look at the one on heritage, and I didn't see any marks behind the head, or, going up the wreath on the right side of the coin. But with all of the die cracks on the reverse, the die couldn't have lasted much longer. IMO Report this Post to the Staff
