I've never really looked for errors before but found this while sorting through some of my 1940's wheat pennies. Is this considered a die crack? Is it worth pulling out of my common wheat pennies pile? I know the picture isn't the best. Thanks!

I can't tell from the photo. Is there an actual crack in the coin? A die crack will cause a raised line on a coin.

Q: Is it worth keeping
A: Do you like it?

Don't let other people's collecting preferences affect your personal style of collecting.

If you don't like it & it is rare...would you still keep it?

Thanks. Sorry it has been a few days, I am having problems getting a good picture. Is this any better? It looks like a small fault line. The penny isn't damaged at all so I don't think it got crushed or something.

It's still hard for me to tell, but I'm leaning toward "it took a hit".

Keep it. I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was a lamination error.

Looks like a lamination peel on that area. Is it raised?
