From my previous post the seller wants another $45 for the mint box as well.

Did you check, if he sells the box in separate? I think, it could be nice to buy it.

On the other hand, if the coins are grade 69, you would LOSE money:

The price of all 3 coins is $314. After average eBay/PayPal fees you are left with $280.

He just see's a high asking price and thinks they are automatically worth that asking price, obviously they are tanking look at those finished prices getting the whole set for less than issue and not have to pay the $35 each to get them graded just wait they will drop even more.

With the recent issues to some of the coins on the set, based on my experiences of all 4 sets I have returned. Getting a 'perfect 70 set' is next to impossible.... so it may be worth the money for some people.

There may be abundant sets on the market but to find/have set with minimal/problems free is not easy and may worth extra money/efforts for it.

Except they don't look perfect. Hard to tell from pictures but the pf69 enamelled finish reverse side looks like what were fine scratches in pictures I took of the same coin (along the edge rimming the face) and the pf70 antique finish obverse might have a spot behind the queen's neck. I couldn't see anything obvious in the pf70 set for sale but I wouldn't be surprised if I could find something wrong with them.

Are people really going to pay that much just for a graded set?

Well someone paid almost $500 CA for one coin already and $330 for another. eh so ya someone will pay $1500 for the set of 3, just watch it will sell.

There were a few other auctions with the PF 69 that ended around $100 CA I guess.

But as Smilodon pointed out, these coins are no better then anyone else's that bought these sets, just fancy names on a slabbed package bringing in the extra dough! Love it. Great for sellers.

Does the grade really matter much when it comes to NCLT? Personally, I don't care what my set would grade. Every time I look at it, I think more and more that it may be my favourite coin/set in more than recent years. I'd rather have the coins in the original display than in slabs, even if they graded 70. I wouldn't be able to tell it from a 68 or 69 because I don't inspect coins under perfect light and magnification. I view them as if they were someone else's display. Appreciate them as they appear, without looking for the even slightest flaw.
On the other hand, with the number of defective coins supposedly being returned, perhaps the number of actual coins landing in the hands of collectors will be much fewer and the grade, (along with the cost to buy) will be more significant.
Either way, if I were a collector of super high grade coins, and I wound up with a perfect set, I'd put them back in the original holder/box. I assume not many of these sets will be graded anyhow and I stick with the old phrase, blah blah blah,...... eye of the beholder
Buy what you like, not what you hope to make a profit on and you'll never get burned.

I would not pay a premium for a perfect set, was the point I was trying to make.

Than again, whenever I get a new vehicle, I intentionally scratch it just to get that first scratch out of the way. Still like the same.

It sure did not take long for the Moon Mask set to tank in price.

J&M Coins is selling the set for $316.95. How long before we see other dealers discounting the price?

It's a promotion I think. It has nothing to do with the coin set performing poorly in the market.
