Thank you Decadon, for your experience with the "NCLT friend".

I shown the set to non-collector, he told, that he can't see them as coins, but in his opinion, these are antique medals from "Indiana Jones" like movies.

At some point it will likely sell out, but not because of "hot" demand. If that was the case, it would have sold out long ago.

Yeah, correct, not "hot demand", but stable interest.
Not easy to pay CAD 350 for set.
If I were tourist non-collector, visiting the Ottawa mint and the RCM boutique, so as souvenir would buy or 1/4oz silver coloured Canada Flag, or the Masks Set.

Selling out at the RCM means absolutely nothing if other dealers have them in stock at issue price.

So far there is no shortage of them at Canada Post, Gatewest Coins, Colonial Acres, Canadian Coin & Currency, and other dealers like J&M Coins.

I wonder how many of the Moon Masks sets are actually in collectors hand if there is so much unsold stock around. Given that the RCM still have 400 of them, how much are still available from other dealers?

Due to the limited mintage and specific nische for these type of coins, even the current RCM and dealers stock might be shared.
Like RCM will show 400 units, but the dealers have their allocation from these 400. And if for example, CA will sell 1 set now, the RCM will show 1 less.

That is highly doubtful. If that was the case the RCM will never show coins as sold out as long as dealers have them in stock. Clearly that is not the case when the Gold Moon Mask coin has been sold out for a long time at the RCM but Gatewest Coins still have them in stock. And that goes for the Big Coin series where it has been sold out for awhile at the RCM yet most dealers still have them at issue price.

The seller is good, bought from him 2014 and 2015 graded SMLs from the fractional set and the price was acceptable.

So....really nice to know that we have set priced high.

no, marty, you not buying due to price...if you like it - yes, better to hurry, but if you do not care about the theme - why to spend time.

Looks like might have to send one in for grading and keep one in the mint set seeing that I have two. From my previous post the seller wants another $45 for the mint box as well.

Are people really going to pay that much just for a graded set?
