I know most everyone has seen something like this, but it is the first, most striking, example I have found. I just wanted to post it. Is this where the phrase: "Not one red cent" comes from? Meaning you don't see them very often. I have tried to show the color as close to the actual color as I can.

Something that makes cents turn red is saliva. That and other bodily fluids color/alter the them from normal. Sneeze droplets makes freckles on coins. The hand fingerprints alter the color of cents in a bad way.

Thanks John1 - I was quite surprised to find it - and in a customer wrapped roll, too!

How do I know that is true? I experimented with one from a BU roll, put it in a 2X2 and it still looks the same color three years later.
