Nothing special. Looks to be an honest coin. Paid a smidgen below current melt. I'm thinking XF with maybe an outside chance at low AU (not that it's ever going to be submitted or that it would matter much at all one way or the other with respect to value). What say you?

AU wear but it appears to have no mint luster. There would be a good chance TPG's would XF it due to lack of luster. PG

Nice buy. Have you checked it for a VAM?

Yeah, but if silver continues its freefall (and it took a beating today), I could end up on the other side of that soon enough.

Unless it has a clear pickup - this one doesn't appear to - 1880-P is a . It will make your eyes cross. Some of the differentiations (and there are a *lot* of 1880-P VAMs) are diabolical. Attributing these is sometimes used as punishment.

This coin is a bit better than AU-50. I'll say AU-53.

Hah, I second this. I've got four 1880 P Morgans and none are attributed.
