I have a few Canadian one cent pieces... one in good condition to my knowledge from 1913, One is dinged and bent...from 1861 I believe nd the second one is form 1859 and looks to me to be in good condition..how do I know how well the condition is considered to be? I cant add the images for some reason..but I can link them to photobucket and the 1861(i believe) and and the 1859 and ***Edited by Forum Dad to fix images***

1913 1 Cent KM#21 I'd call it F15 $1.00 in F $1.50 in VF
1861? That design with George started in 1901 I believe And being damaged it wouldn't have much value
1859 KM#1 I'm gonna let someone else take this as there are 4 varieties of this date with different values

Chillchick, I'm going to say, without a better scan, it looks like a double punched narrow nine, mintage just under 10,000, you have to look at the crown for wear to tell condition, it looks like vg8.

George V reigned from 1911 to 1936. Your second coin has to be somewhere in that timeframe.

How to get your pictures posted: Take the photobucket links you have provided and place them in the image tags. When you start a new topic or hit the reply to topic link in the upper right hand corner of this page it will bring up a reply box with all the smilies on the left. Click the image button (It's the yellow one that looks like there are some mountains and a tiny sun. There is also and black arrow in the upper left hand corner. Once you click the button two image tags will appear in your message. Copy and paste your photobucket link in the tags and tada!

My references show either 6 or 7 varieties of 1859 so we would need a better picture to determine which variety it is.

I agree, There are 6 varieties and too hard to tell what you have with current images. When you do repost please also let us know what direction the reverse is in. Meaning, if you are looking at the queen and then flip the coin over from bottom to top (just like US money), is the picture right side up or upside down? That is a decider on value as well. I agree as well on the vg8 grade for now as it depends on how worn the braid in her hair just under her ear is to really determine grade.
G4- braid worn through VG8- no detail in braid around ear F12- segments of braid begin to merge into one another.

The second one is a 1911 cent. Even if the date is unreadable you know it is 1911 because that was the only year that obverse legend was used. It is commonly known as the Godless obverse because the latin "DEI GRA: (GRACE OF GOD) is not on the coin as it is on your 1913 example.
