Heading over to Streetsville (Mississauga) with the family today, but won't stay for the fireworks. I've got an interview first thing tomorrow morning.

Happy Canada Day to our other fellow Canadians! (And wannabe Canadians)

That's right--your national day is before ours!
I hope that means a day off--and nice weather to enjoy

Okay, now you have me really confused! Is "canada Day", and "National Day the same thing? Is it on the 24th of June, (dia de San Juan),? And where does Quebec fit into the picture?

The British North America Act was signed July 1st 1867 creating the Dominion of Canada. The National holiday was known as Dominion Day but has been changed to Canada Day. June 24 is is celebrated in Quebec as St. John the Baptist Day, and was originally a religious holiday celebrating the Patron Saint of Quebec. In latter years the day has taken on a more political nature especially with the rise of the separatist movement.

For those south of the border, Quebec was recently declared a "nation" within a nation by our PM.

Does that give the Governor, Mayor, or whoever is the "King of the hill", the status of PM? It could be rather difficult, don't you know!
