1977 Cent - Off Center Strike - Coin Community Forum

my76strat Valued Member United States 128 Posts	Posted 03/16/2015 10:18 am This 1977 cent seems to be slightly off center. You may notice where the rim of the coin is quite slender at the top whereas it becomes thicker as it approaches the bottom, even showing a double strike at the bottom. If the picture does not show this well, I can only say that in fact the coin has these characteristics. Is this a rare coin? Report this Post to the Staff

tweak800 Pillar of the Community United States 1249 Posts	Posted 03/16/2015 10:36 am What does the reverse look like? If the reverse is centered then the coin is MAD. And it isn't rare at all. If it is truly off center it still is very minor I doubt it would have much of a premium if any. You want to see the coin stay losing features like the motto or liberty or more once it starts getting into the layers and such then it starts to become rare and worth a premium Report this Post to the Staff
