HOLLYWOOD,

I love writing articles like this that create a sort of "treasure hunt" by many readers.

BTW, a fellow on the CONECA Forum reports finding one of the WDDR-004 today in a roll today. He found it in La Verne, CA. I also heard one sold for $200 on ebay.

Woooo, you guys beat me to this. I didn't even know my article was out yet. I want to again thanks all here at CCF for helping and John Wexler for the images. I hope this sparks more interest in them. I tried to buy a few and the prices seemed to be heading upward again. I'll wait :)

That is machine damage to the bust. Not a doubled die. How to tell the difference?

Note the two images. On machine damage, the edges of the bust are altered. On the hub doubled examples the doubling is inside the bust. (not on the outside edge of the bust)

There has only been one pricey "D" with doubling in the date. Think it sold for $79.

The 004 "P" listings are oversaturated. One guy has a single listing for 100 004's.

They come from one die that is doubled. A lot of dies are made. so if you have a lot in your area, you are doing well. Probably very few others have the same one you have. Easy to trade and sell. So stock up on them when you can get them for face value.
