forgot to mention, this one is still in the UNC set it came in. Might be another place to check. I'm going to order a few Circulating sets to see if there could be any in there as well.

I think I found one of the "reflection" type....very hard for me to get a decent picture of it though.

I noticed that the 004 described as "reflection" on ebay often sell for less than those described otherwise. At least that is what I observed a week ago of so.

Yes, I don't think they will turn out to be as rare as everyone first thought....I just stuck mine in my National Park Dansco.

I think they will be a good coin though.

I have a question. If these doubled coins are made when making the die and they do say a whole run on these dies. What makes this any different than the district of columbia as far as numbers in circulation? Unless did they catch the d.c. mistake and pull it and P. Mint doesn't catch anything?

Seeing a discussion called: "2015 Nebraska Homestead Quarter Doubled Die Discoveries", and not seeing DDR-004 mentioned seems almost remiss to me; I wouldn't assumed it was universally known. Since I did acquire one, I've shown it as an example to better fulfill the promise of this threads title. In my opinion, many novice coin enthusiast will find this thread when they search the key-words of this topic. If only for them and me, any comments about when and where these discoveries first emerged and how dispersed they are known to be, would be appreciatively seen as helpful information. I hope those "in the know" will share of their insight and append some of this information or even more. Thanks.

I'm sorry. I had only reviewed the first page of this thread when making the previous comment.

A die only lasts for a certain amount of strikes, after that it is replaced. So even though there are several doubled die coins, all of the coins of that type are not doubled. Did I say that right?
