Hflirn Pillar of the Community United States 586 Posts	Posted 03/22/2015 11:04 pm I can't tell completely from the pics but I wonder if those scratches could be some kind of die cracking due to what looks like raised areas along the scratch/crack in some spots. Also, the rim has some signs of die deterioration/possible Cud formation which can create some cool havoc elsewhere on a coin, at times. I'm no expert just a thought... Report this Post to the Staff

However, I would strongly suggest investing in a scale and a caliper for as little as $10 each. This way you can check the diagnostics on your coins. Also, it could save yourself a lot of heartache and money. Because nobody wants to find out the hard way they own a counterfeit that's worth a buck or two. Report this Post to the Staff
