I am thinking this is a 1839 booby head large cent. It has the curl on the forehead but the hair doesn't extend like the silly head. Would you agree? Someone mentioned this was a booby head before when I posted a pic of the lot it was in. There is no date but obviously 1839.

Yes, that is a Booby Head. It's hard to see on this piece because it's so worn but on the Booby Head Liberty's shoulder shows on the bust. On the Silly head it does not. Interestingly enough the names "Silly Head" and "Booby Head" were coined by coin collector W.E. Woodward in the 1860s and referred to the stupid look on Liberty's face.
Here are internet pics of the Booby Head and Silly Head for comparison. Notice how the point of the bust sticks out and comes to a point on the back of the Booby Head. This is what I see on your coin.
