I'm not too familiar with this one, but I'm assuming an over polished die. I've seen several examples where the initials were faint, but they aren't there at all on this one. Any kind of value for this? Of course, it's not in the best shape.

There is a small premium as I recall as noted in Strike It Rich. I'm not sure how much off hand.

To the best of my knowledge there was never one U.S. coin
of any denomination ever minted that actually had the designers initials
left off of the die. Any and all so called missing FG's etc. can all be attributed to die wear, overpolishing or normal wear etc. Thus these are not considered error coins. Some people collect them and that is just fine. Some also have a slight premium on them. Why they do, I really do not know. Guess it all started with the 1922 plain Lincoln Cent. Even that one is not a mint error but to this day it still demands
a premium. I must admit that I even collect those. The only true mint errors (my opinion anyway) missing anything, in this case the mintmark, are the 1982 and possibly the 1983 roos. dimes. Why one coin like the 22 plain is worth more than any missing FG is beyond me. It is what it is I guess.

About right Indian. The only caveat around the 1922 might be that I recall reading someplace that the D was intentionally left off on one die set in addition to the variants that had a D to start and wore off. Perhaps that's why we have a slot for it in our albums.

As for the missing FG; I see weak FGs on several years and mints. Why 1969 only? Oddly enough, it makes it into the Cherrypickers listing and in Strike It Rich. EF specimens list for a couple of bucks to around 5 for an AU coin. I personally wouldn't pay that much for either, but I do flip the 69Ds to see what I can see...or not. When I find one, it'll cost me a cent.

The 199-D's all had the mint marks on them. They were polished off as they were not getting anymore dies. So the kept using them. So they got in pretty bad shape at the ends of the runs that year.

The designers initials were added to the Jefferson nickels forward in 1966. (according to the Red Book)

But the Memorial design always had the initials on them when they hubbed. Again a case of over polishing them removed the designers initials. Some you used to get them graded are now turned down for these.
(I know one who collector who had some graded and now they returned them to him refusing to attribute them any longer. PCGS)
