1981 Cent Type 1 Or 2?

Looks like type 1 to me because it is a filled S....the type 2 has the clear S

well actually in 1981 both type 1 and type 2 are a clear "S" type but the type 2 has the bulbous serifs instead of the smaller rounded serifs shown on this coin

Type 1 which is the normal type on a 1981

The confusing issue is that it is the same as Type 2 on 1979 proofs:-)

This S came later in 1979 becoming the Type 2

It was used earlier in 1981 Making it the Type 1 for that year:-)

Again, This is the "normal" Type on 1981 S proof cents.
