Best publications for star note values?
Best place to sell?
All are considered circulated, but I got a group of $10: 1999 series with BF17035505* thru BF17035970*(89 total in this group of 10's) 1 set is from BF17035741 thru BF17035779 and just missing BF17035745. They are crisp and like new.
I'm looking for a market to sell, got $3500-$4000 worth form 1's to 100's.
Appreciate any info
Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary welcome to the forum.

I have never seen a market specifically centered on star notes although I'm sure that such a market exists.

There is one publication I can think of ,(paper money values) and should be available at places like Hastings or other news stands.

If nothing else this publication may give you a direction to look in where you could offer the notes in bulk to someone who deals with them on a regular basis .

I have seen some consecutive star notes sell on ebay but have never watched them to see exactly how much they went for or anything, you may want to do a completed auction search there to see what they are selling for single and consecutive. You may have better luck selling in lots of 5 consecutive notes also (I don't know) just because it would probably bring it to a level where the collector would be able to afford them and may help bring the final price up

Paper Money of the United States by Arthur and Ira Friedberg is somewhat the bible on note values from what I understand. I have this book and can give you values if you tell me exactly what you have.

I suggest Standard Guide to Small Size U.S. Paper Money by Schwartz & Lindquist. You can order the 8th edition on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Guid..._sim_b_img_6

thanks for the responses....I'll check it out.
As far as what I have, they are just star notes of different denominations and dates. Some are in a series of 8 or more and are in good shape, but nothing old and out of the ordinary. I was just wondering if there was a market for them. Looks like I should check auctions at ebay....seems like it is the only place to sell anything you would like to sell.
Like I stated before, I probably have $4000 worth of bills that are star notes and $1000 that is notes with the small pictured figure heads(1988 & older). If they have value, I'll sell or keep, but if not worth anything more than face, may as well put money to better use.
thanks again

If you want to list just a couple of the older examples, I can check and at least tell you how much they are worth over face value. May only be a couple of dollars, but with $4000 worth, it may be worth your while. You may be able to add 50% to your total face value.....

Good news bad news. All of the pricing listed in my book is for notes that are VF at a minimum grade.

I will edit your post with VF pricing for what you have listed just to make things easier.

fine...long sigh....I will list those too.

But I need my book again for that. I am not too up to date on grading paper, so I will have to recite what is says in the book. It won't be until later today though.

Oh, and you're more than welcome. That's what we're all here for. Education and help.

Go get the "Paper Money by PCGS" magazine at Barns and Nobles. I've used it a lot and it has updated price listings every 4 months.
