Can anyone recommend somewhere decent to buy uncleaned ancients?

I've had a look on ebay at the uncleaned lots, is that generally what you'll pay elsewhere?

Thanks :)

I've heard that FORVM Ancient Coins has better-than-average uncleaned for sale.

The large Roman coins and the Iberian Celtic at commonbronze.com look interesting to me.

There are many, many places to buy uncleaned coins, and your experiences will vary, but I have had good experiences with

on ebay there are many sellers, and I hate to name any for fear of leaving out others but here are two: oldcoinman and dianacoins (used to be paganecoins). On E-bay though, you can always look for auctions that picture the actual coins being sold and judge the quality yourself.

If you go with ebay just avoid the "gold found" sellers. No one who digs up gold leaves it in with a pile of dirty bronze coins.

Another good seller who is "close to the sources" is Herb at Nemesis

Thanks folks, I bid on some cheapies from what appears to be a new seller on ebay, so I guess with what I paid for em, if they are low quality well at least the kids will have fun discovering it!

I'll check out all the links etc for my next purchase.

:)
