I'm not looking to complete this set but I saw this piece as a nice upgrade for my EF coin. The seller called it FH but I don't think it quite makes that standard. How would you all grade her?

The hairline has to be distinct for a FH. Can't quite tell from the pics if it is or not. You probably can from the coin in hand though.

That's a really nice coin. Not sure about FH or not. Looks mid to high MS though. MS64

Have you seen in hand? Good luster or not?

The toning throws me just a little.

No way it's FH in my opinion. Sellers will say anything to sell. That's what they do.

Not sure if it would make full head ... be nice to see it in hand.

Pros - very well struck coins, good eye appeal.

Cons - For me the black specks/spots detract somewhat.
But then ... in hand may not see them as much.

Believe this coin, in 63/64/ or better grade, FH or not, would be in a slab because of the value of the coin.

Dealer or private party deal?

There's friction on the high points, AU-58 and possibly cleaned

The seller is my local coin shop where I generally get pretty good deals.
I agree this piece misses FH because the upper edge of Liberty's "hairline" is not completely defined. Close, but not quite enough.
Luster looks full across the fields and I'm not seeing any high-point wear in-hand. There are some wispy hairlines in the right obverse field that should preclude a higher MS grade.
Overall I'd peg her as MS-62, maybe 63 on a good day.
Thanks for the feedback!
