One thing to take into account though is that all of the numbers, lettering are on the bust side and none on the Art side, which would make this coin quite unique.

Ah yes the 2 loons 1 oz silver coin, 10,000 mintage.

So I guess the GITD coin will look something like this on the bust side. Only this time 2oz and 4000 mintage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the GITD firefly would be the first time colour and GITD technology has been put on a 2oz silver coin?

The RCM has used this design approach multiple times before. Here are a few other coins that have used the same approach and can still be viewed on the RCM web site:

Darn it. I've been cutting down on purchases but that 5oz Flanders Fields coin is going to break me. It looks amazing with colour and a George V effigy.

"2015 $50 Pure Silver Coin 5 oz - 100th Anniversary of In Flanders Fields ($519.95) - Two soldiers paying their respects to their fallen comrades, a portion of the poem is etched on the coin (Mintage: 1,500)"

Yes, this coin is amazing, but expensive.
P.S. You forgot to mention the field of red poppies.

Didn't forget but yes red poppies, green foliage and a cross to mark a gravesite. Double dated too. Even the faces of the young soldiers (which the RCM usually has trouble producing effectively) look great.

But, others need not buy this coin. Look away. Buy LTs instead. Thanks. ;)

I really like that Flanders coin. It would be a great reminder of the visit I made to Flanders almost 2 years ago. For those of you who have not been, it is really worth the trip.

Ah... isn't that small 14k gold cartoon coin with a higher mintage that some are fawning over even more expensive?

All RCM coins are expensive by most standards and of course we want them for less money but to me a good design based on a historically significant subject on a large coin with low mintage is a winner. ymmv.

A historically significant theme low mintage with great design is most desirable indeed...just wish there were more of those...
The 2 oz silver WWII declaration of war from last year's a great example of your preference...
There is another one coming I hear for May...
