According to this RFD post, there be will be a 3 coin set honouring the new baby, George Alexander Louis. It will be issued in August. http://forums.redflagdeals.com/rfd-...165863/2035/The set will be limited to 7500 sets. There is also a Royal baby carriage coin and a Royal baby toy coin. This post also lists the rest of the August coins. Credit goes to windscar who originally posted the info. Edited by MoneyPenney 07/24/2013 4:59 pm

The set could potentially be a big hit as everything to do with the Royals sell well. Even the 5 oz silver Queen Coronation coin sold out rapidly and did very well on the secondary market.
I hear this comment quite often, "I am not into the monarchy", which is true for younger people but the Royals are really popular with the older generation.
I see a lots of grandparents buying this set for their grandchildren. Afterall, this will be the future King of England.
Also, it will depend on what the coins look like and whether it has a nice case. If the Mint do a good job, this set could do very well.
I am sure the design has already been done and they are just waiting for the name, which came out today, George Alexander Louis.

I'll be dead and in diapers before he's King. But I would note that not all things Royal do well. For every coin that appreciated, there is one that did not. Many of the Jubilee coins last year, for example sell below issue. The Charles and Diana coin sells for basically bullion and the list goes on. I agree, the new set will sell out and have short term value but anyone buying the set to hold it (or pass it down) until King George Seven takes the thrown is definitely in for the long haul.

None of the royal coins can make money on resale they are all duds. OK if you collect but garbage if you want to try and make any money I would not touch them.

with CC-O. Many PO still have the 2012 Royal Wedding coin for sale. Also I don't think the name of the Royal Baby will be on the coin. Because this coin is gift for every children which born in 2013.

I would buy a coin/set if it appeals to me for my own personal collection. The 5oz queen coronation coin I saw recently sold for $520 plus shipping. Not doing as well as some people think.

If I understand correctly, it isn't usual "Baby set" They've prepared it for Royal baby birth So...could be everything in there Btw, the Proof Silver Sovereign, or more correctly Crown, with St George and the Dragon, that issued now by UK Royal Mint looks amazing. Just the purity of .925 (prefer or .958 like previous Britannia, or .999) and the price makes it less attractive to me.

I prefer the set rather than individual coin. Although there are no actual images of the coins yet but I still order 1 set at local PO.
It's not for my own collection. It is for my little baby (born in 2013).
Cheers

It is going to be a Venetian Glass Rattle with the baby in the background.

I have been generally pessimistic about aftermarket values of the Mint's products as of late, especially Royalty coins. However, I think there is a HUGE potential for high aftermarket prices with these upcoming coins. Monarchy collectors have been getting bored of all the Jubilee stuff and are desperate for a new generation. This baby is going to reignite the flame back into this cult.

I am disappoint at St George and Dragon from the royal. They should make the coin 99.99 Silver or gold .. instead of just sterling silver and 22k gold coin. I like their silver penny but only for collection. Don't waste ya time trying to flip that because The Royal Mint sell them on ebay. I too am wait for the 3 coin set to see what they looks like. I probably buy it for my own collection as my wife and I are expecting our first baby in November

While the long term value may not hold up, the baby coin should do well in the short term like the other monarchy coins. The Royal Wedding coin may have dropped in price now but that coin was very hot when it first came out. I had no problem selling my coins when it first came out. The same with the 60th anniversary coloured 5 oz coin. At one time it was selling for over $600. There have been a lots of coins with other members of the Royal family. But this is the first for this member. It should do well. I expect a fast sell out because I think the dealers will jump on it. This will leave a shortage for collectors. But I still want to see what the coins looks like before buying it. If there is no name on it, forget it, I am not buying. As for coins dropping in value, I don't see any of the June and July coins doing that well. Most coins including the Dino 3 coins are not sold out.
