It was in a secure case in a old steel box in a vault for many years and had my grandfathers writing on a piece of paper "1652 Massachusetts" it appears to be very dense and I do not have a coin scale. hoosiergator Valued Member 204 Posts	Posted 04/09/2015 2:32 pm Are you able to post a closer pictures of the markings? Getting it weighed is not a difficult task. Any jeweler will do it. Just walk in and ask for weight in grams. Takes 30 seconds in total. I have never heard of a jewelry store not doing it for somebody. If they did they would be major pricks.
