I notified that as well. It was in a secure case in a old steel box in a vault for many years and had my grandfathers writing on a piece of paper "1652 Massachusetts" it appears to be very dense and I do not have a coin scale.

Are you able to post a closer pictures of the markings?
Getting it weighed is not a difficult task. Any jeweler will do it. Just walk in and ask for weight in grams. Takes 30 seconds in total. I have never heard of a jewelry store not doing it for somebody. If they did they would be major pricks.

Looks to be a counterstamped Roman coin to me, no way it is a Mass coin. Could some envelopes have been swapped?
