It's a British Crown (5 shilling coin) of George III. There are several varieties of this but I don't know what "LX" or "LIX" refers to in Krause. Composition is sterling silver.

Roman numerals LIX = 50+9 = 59 years from the the accession of George 111 to the Throne.
('X' = 10, '1X' = 9.)
Reign started in 1720, so the date is the latter part of 1818, or the earlier part of 1819. Can't be 1818, because the date '1819' appears on the face of the coin.

I think Sel has a typo there. It should read, "reign started in 1760". Then if you add the 59, you get 1819.

The LX or LIX is part of the edge inscription - it should read DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI LIX (or LX), meaning "An Ornament and a Safeguard. Regnal Year 59" (or 60).

There is some edge lettering, but in the coins well worn state it was hard to make it out.The dude looks like hes gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. I've now seen some real nice versions on ebay. Thanks for every ones help, I believe its the oldest coin I have, almost 200 years old.

This type is notable as the first appearance of the George & Dragon motif by Bendetto Pistrucci, which has since become a fixed type on the British coinage. I have a couple of specimens of George IIII crowns, from a couple of years later (this is at the end of the old man's life), which are similar (& in similar condition) but without the encircling garter.
