Also, jbuck, did you read my last post about dumping boxes?
I would love your feedback on that

Sorry, but my roll hunting experience is limited to the loose roles; I have never acquired a box. Dumping has never been an issue since I usually just spend what I do not keep.

So, my answer is you will not know until you try.

But hopefully someone else will have a more accurate opinion.

I have found it easy with Chase to go through the drive threw and deposit my dumps, I go to the commercial window with a box of halves or nickels (re-rolled of course)and a filled out deposit slip. I deposited a whole box of halves and $400 in nickels at the same time and nothing was negative was said to me, so I am assuming all is good. I do rotate my dumps between two different branches just to be on the safe side.

Good news, no hassle to discard my boxes at the bank, unfortunately, I have to wait for a week before my four boxes get here

WOW!

Great find bishftl

This has always been one of my goals to find in circulation/rolls. Back in the early 70s and into the 80s my grandfather and I went through a lot of halves hoping to find one - never did

We found Walkers, Franklins, 90% JFKs etc, but the 70d was always the "holy grail" to find so he could complete the collection. He enjoyed the hunt rather than going to a coin shop and buying. He never did get one.

Funny that brings back another memory about halves. He had never found a 1948 P Franklin although he had been collecting since the late 50s/60s. So we kids got together and bought him an UNC 1948 to complete his set. Guess what he found - literally - the next week? And to top it off, his find was also an UNC coin

10 boxes last night only yielded 9 40% and 2 90 %. Things have really started to dry up. Not to mention my bank now wants to charge me $7.50 per box to order these. I would have lost money doing this with what I found last night. Guess it's on to another bank. Closed all my accounts there today.

I found a "gold painted" Kennedy in the box today,... how can you tell if it is gold plated ?
The only coins I found in the two boxes I had this week were :
1 - 1978 "S" minted
1 - 2004 NIFC

I know there are some instances of errors
like a few million 1965 dimes being stamped on silver blanks left over from 1964 and the like.

A few thousand would be stretching it. A few million, and they'd be worth scrap value only.

mountainman 2 : Same here, pleasure meeting you.

*Try posting pics of the foreign coin over at the World Coins and Commem Forum.
Some member over there will definitely ID it for you. *

I know , after seeing it here that I was wrong in telling you earlier that it might be Chinese. It's not.

I agree with Eyeluvcoins, it's either Arabic or maybe from India or Maylasia?

Good luck with your hunting!

Chuck.
