This is the variety submitted by Penny Ewonus of BC in April 1999. I showed it in my CCN column and it seems it took off. I see it as a standard listing in Charlton. Are folks looking for this one?

Very cool find. I definitely don't see too many toonies with rhino bears on them.

Yes I have been looking for one for a couple years now and have not found one. I have just recently found one of the "cigar" 1996 toonies listed in Charlton.

You know, I think it is a nose ring! Cool little die break.

FYI, I wrote about the "Rhino" die break - September 2013, CN Journal, Canadian Spice column, pages 434-435.

Roger, It's kind of cool. Back when I wrote about it I would have never guessed anybody would care. But that was 16 years ago. A lot has changed in the hobby since then. I think adding varieties into the back of the book in every edition of Charlton has helped varieties a lot.
