I have the opportunity to pickup a Capped Bust half dollar 1825 O-117 variety graded VF30. I don't collect or play with this series and am wondering what would be a good buy for this coin? Eventhough I don't collect this series, I do like it alot. Thanks in advanced for any input and help.

This certain variety is rarity 4, putting it in the middle of the rarity scale. I'm guessing this is a slabbed coin? Really nice half anyways

Yes, you are correct. This coin is slabbed. Any idea what would be a good buy on a coin like this? Thanks.

I think that if you look at past auctions you could get an idea. I love the coin.

Although R.4 I don't really see the variety adding much of any premium so value should be as normal for the date/grade. For this one, I'd be bragging if I got it for under $125. That said, the grade seems a bit optimistic from these images.

If there is no evidence of cleaning on the coin, I would say right around $140 to $160. If it has hairlines or cleaning I would pass on it.
