Hello All,
I am pretty excited about this coin I bought on one of my internet groups that I belong to. It's a 1923 Penny with die cracks on both sides of the coin. According to my new RENNIKS variety book, the crack from the rim through the dot to the base of the bust attributes it as a variety.

I'm still in a learning process when it comes to grading these coins, but I think this is a nice Extra Fine coin. In the Australian penny varieties, there doesn't seem to be any type of name or number to identify these different varieties. In the US Indian Head and Flying Eagle cents, each variety is given a Snow number S-1, S-2 and so on, named after the author and expert Rick Snow. That makes it very easy to identify and categorize each coin.

Sure would like some opinions.

Thanks,

Good Looking coin, there, Dave. Grading from the pic looks EF, as you suggest. Looks like a good score.
We don't have a system as such for the varieties, like the Snow system.
Happy hunting.

Hello gnome,
Had to post this one, it was one that you sent me. It appears to be another variety with the two broken O's and the broken 8.

I've just now got the microscope and scanner working with my new computer.
