Looking to buy an 1880 o Morgan. Graded they are pretty pricey. These three are raw and have return options if I don't like it. What do you think...grade wise and cleaned etc?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1880-O-Morg...em51d190493e

Asking $74

Asking $68

Asking $89

Let me know which one I should choose or not buy at all. I don't see cleaning could just be the lighting.

I'm not 100% in love with scans, just not experienced enough with them. The second one has some toning, but might have an old cleaning and retoned. I'd pass on all three too. If I can't tell what coin looks like........

....maybe for a $10 coin I'll take a chance, but...

#1) Solid strike possible low luster my grade: AU 58 to MS 62 as noted above surface could be an issue.
#2) Coin shows circulation rub AU 55
#3) I feel this coin is a slider AU 58 with possible nice luster as the breast feathers show some possible circulation rub.

The Morgan O mint is very difficult to buy raw low end MS from photo because of the soft strike. This seller provides no description on luster to help the buyer make a good decision on purchasing a MS coin and the sellers photos are very hard to tell luster. I also noticed on another 1880-O listed that looked MS the seller wanted over $300. If I was going to buy a low end MS in 1880-O, I would buy a MS 61 slab coin for $120 to 135 and you do not have to play the guessing game on a O mint if the coin is AU or MS.

If you are looking for a MS example, I would pass on all 3 of these

These are scans, and no conclusion about surfaces may be drawn from them. Any purchase from a scan is a risk, and if dave700x doesn't like him, then I don't either. 1880-O doesn't get pricey until 64 or better; they're not uncommon in lower Mint State Grades.

This seller is listing them all at under Numismedia MS-60 money so that should tell you he does not believe what is written on the 2x2's or what is written on them was deliberate to get potential bidders thinking they are getting a good deal.

I would pass on all three.

You were smart enough to have others here also take a look at them to confirm your doubts.
