I hope you didn't expect to see the real thing here. This is a nice copy I picked up from a junk box many moons ago. Since I will never have the real thing, I placed it in with my other Colonials as a representative piece. I can not recall seeing other copies of this piece, except the Bolen Copy, which this is not. I am curious to know if anyone can tell me when, where, or who made this copy?

I've never seen one before. I'll have to do some research but there were a lot of colonial coin copies made for the Bicentennial in 1976.

Actually I think that this is a cast of one of the Bolen copies. I can't find reference to any other copies. The Bolen copy was struck and this piece was obviously cast. Supposedly there are 7 originals and 30 Bolen copies.

Celticsoul, I agree that it looks cast, unlike the Bolen copies which have smooth surfaces from the pictures I have seen, giving them an artificial look. I think this copy looks closer to the genuine coin recently sold by Heritage for big bucks. My copy only cost me a buck or two at most.
