What would be a good price for a 1916 LSQ in fine condition? I see listed value of $6700 bucks and this coin is the jawbreaker of the whole set. Is this a realistic value in today's market?

A certified F-12 should run you around $5500 in today's market, an F-15 can be had for about $6200. A raw coins should be a $1000-$2000 cheaper, but that's a risk that I wouldn't be willing to take. Buying at a coin show where there is a lot of competition would be best, and you could get it for a few hundred cheaper than you would online.

I see the mintage of the 1916 SLQ is 52,000. I wonder how many actually exist and are there any estimates based on facts? I think I would rather collect the Mercury dime or Buffalo nickel since there is no one coin that will set you back that much. However, given the totality of all those other coins it may be just as expensive to collect them. Back when I was a kid I never saw a SLQ in even very good condition in circulation. They were all junk.
