There are two members on here that sell product for verdigris...

With respect to the fingerprint. Even if you removed the oils.. there would be a difference in tones similar to the fingerprint itself.

As for preservation of this coin... your two biggest enemies are air and water. You should try to do the best you can to prevent exposure to both.
Simple food grade ziplock bags would be a starting point.

We're looking at 60 year old material that hasn't been seen by anyone. To me I am reminded of the Landon hoard. That generated a lot of interest. You got these pennies on the cheap and I would hold on to them for a good long while. The upside is far greater than the downside in this case!

Fantastic coins keep up the pics

T-Bop and AgCoinAU thank you for the great advice as always. Any real stunners have been going directly into 2x2s so have varieties. The rest have been going into ziplock bags. It's funny to be putting MS62s or 63s in a "reject" bag but I have to draw the line somewhere and I don't have unlimited flips. Any coin with verdigris or fingerprints goes into another bag. I will come back to those once I'm done. I will be opening more rolls today and I will try to post some pictures.

I wasn't 4 coins into my 3rd roll and I found this beauty.

You can really see the double "953" in this picture. I've found 3 coins so far with this error, this is the nicest. You can also see doubling throughout the coin, in the leaves and in CANADA.

It's hard to imagine but the quality of the coins in this roll was even better than the first two. You could tell that much more care was taken by the person rolling these coins. I'm starting more and more to believe the story told by the auctioneer because these coins were not looked over for errors. This gives me hope to find a SF coin.

It's really hard to capture on camera but the coins which display any error have a different finish than those coins which are just plain NSF. I can tell before magnification weather the coin will have a hanging "3". The fields on the NSF coins with no error have a much more polished finish and the color is very slightly different but after a few coins you can obviously tell the difference. It's almost like the coins are of a different composition but I don't know much about that subject and have no means to know for sure.

Coin count so far: 3 rolls - 151 coins
NSF - 53
SF - 0
NSF hanging "3" - 63
NSF double hanging "3" - 20
NSF double "53", double hanging "3" - 6
NSF double "53", hanging "3" - 1
NSF double "5", double hanging "3" - 5
NSF double "953", hanging "3" - 3

Of note, I've been finding coins with only a double "5" and a double "53". This is not listed on Coins and Canada and I wonder if is a new variety?

Good eye Nickelodeon. Can't believe I missed that. I went back over a few other coins and it's also on those. On some of the coins, it's in the shape of a full circle. I'll take a close up shot tonight so you can see. Thanks!

I will save you a wrapper. Not sure when I will get to the bank rolls but when I do, I will take care not to damage one and save it for you. Not sure when that will be, this is going a lot slower than I thought it would.
