Die Deterioration doubling.
On the 1980 doubled die, you can clearly see splits in the digits of the date.

SilverStackerKid, the area above In God We Trust is likely Die Deterioration. When you see this on a 1983 or later, it could be either that and/or split plating disturbance. I've seen it go both ways.
