The 1854-O huge O variety is the most over rated variety of the Liberty Seated quarter series. A dealer who had a quantity of these years ago did a fantastic job of marketing the variety and drove the price through the roof. You can find more Huge O 1854 quarters than the normal O at any given time online. There is nothing truly special about it.

Quote:
Too bad the 75 is the above the bow variety. What ever, it is a CC! The 76 is a better date too

The 1875-CC is slightly more common than the below bow variety and both as a date are easily located.

The 1876-CC has the highest mintage of Carson City Liberty Seated dimes at 8,270,000. It actually is the most common CC dime.

It is really interesting to see people make these sort of comments when they know virtually nothing about the series they are commenting on. If they did they would not post such inaccurate information.

Nice finds and they look really good for having been buried for many years.

Amazing Left Coast finds as good as they come. These remind me of a popular bar bet I read about at the introduction of Barber coinage in 1892. You would say to a fellow patron If you have four quarters I'll bet you I can pick their dates. For each date I get right you give me all quarters that match. if I guess wrong I'll give you a quarter. I will pick four dates only and all that match are mine. Would you take the bet? The dates chosen were revealed to be 1854, 1855, 1876 and 1877.
