Last week he said he had graded 3000 sets and that they were grading 70 in low single digits. He had under 100 sets. t
Today he said he has graded 6000 sets. and he said he had about 150 sets. I am guessing he has maybe sold 50 sets so I am guessing he had about 200 sets in all. He also sells the 70 coin on his CSN show for 999.00 dollars with an ungraded medal.
a
Also last week he said the rejection rate on the medals grading at 69 or 70 was about 65 percent

Huh a 70 graded Truman RP and ungraded dollar doesn't actually seem that terrible of a deal, compared to ebay sales and what things usually go for on the coin shows lol

Oh true. Probably not worth that much but still wouldn't say it is their worst deal ever. Had to pull the trigger and sell my last set in order to make up some costs from my son fracturing his leg :( but at least this was a very nice almost-quadrupling of my initial purchase.

I saw that there was one on ebay for $25k, but I didn't see that it actually sold. Perhaps it did?

Reno, the 25k guy had 2 for BIN on ebay and 1 sold. We were all speculating on what it sold for... so you're saying it sold for the full 25k?

I had the HSN show recorded and watched it last night. It's interesting to watch, but the host sure does exaggerate a bunch. He claimed to have purchased over 40% of the sets minted. Later he claimed to have purchased the better part of half (which means > 50%).

Oh, I was thinking you meant a dealer at a phisical coin show told you from first hand knowledge. That hsn guy and show should not be watched by professional collectors. It's all bloated verbosity meant to do 1 thing... increase company revenue

That said, I can't even find that 25k listing with 1 sold so I don't think we'll ever know if he got the 25k, 15k or 2k... translation is that he is not being factually truthful by omission imo... maybe foxwoods can find it he's good at that sort of thing

I tried to find it...but my power went off during an impressive storm for a few hours this am...

I do remember he took a best offer for #1 but the true price couldn't be found until #2 sold and that went for around $2k...and I remember #1 then listed as sold best offer for around $4k...definitely nowhere near $25k

I will try again to find it....

Man...that was NOT an easy task....

Seems the auction was changed after the $25k #1 "Best Offer" ($4500) was accepted. It became a BIN of $2095 for coin #2 but it did not sell...
