I have a few 1974 Quarters that weight at 5.6 Grams. I also have this one 1974 Quarter that weights at 5.2 Grams. Would anyone know why this quarter would weight less then all the other 1974 quarters. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

No it is underweight.

Spec is 5.67 grams and the tolerance is +/- .227 grams. So the maximum is 5.897 grams and minimum is 5.443 grams. Rounded to two places 5.90 and 5.44 grams.

The OP coin is most likely just a rolled thin planchet.

Where can I find U.S. mint Weight Tolerances please?.
My statement is for cents and I thought it was the same for all denoms.

I use the Coin World Almanac 1990 edition but the specs can be found in the 76,77, 78, 84, and 87 editions as well. Probably in the 2000 and 2010 editions as well.

I highly recommend the Coin World Almanac, I refer to it constantly (I don't care for the 2000 edition too much and I haven't had a chance to examine the 2010 edition). Best of all it is cheap. Used copies of the 2000 and earlier editions are frequently available on abebooks for under $6 including shipping. (There's a 1990 on there right now for $3.48 with free shipping.) Some of them are even hardbound copies. (The binding on the softbounds leaves something to be desired.)
