I recently acquired this coin and when I received it, I noticed this red coloring. It doesn't look like its traces from the original finish. Any toughts? I can't find info on any website. Thanks.

The coin looks circulated, you really are not going to hurt it if you gently remove the red with an acetone-soaked Q-tip...

Thanks for the quick responses. Paint was what I was afraid of when I saw it. I might try the acetone thing eventually, nothing to lose anymore I guess and it came as a bonus item in an auction.
