Hi Folks
Came across this 1730 1/2 penny. While trying to identify it as I was unsure as to what it was, I noticed something different compared to other coins of this year. I noticed on the obverse or reverse unsure which it is I noticed the name Geogvis on this coin. On all the other coins I checked I noticed the name was spelled Georgvis. Just checking to see if anyone can advise if some coins were minted this way, or if the r was accidently left off. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

You asked (and received an answer) about the same coin more than 3 years ago.

It is a genuine 1730 Great Britain Half-penny. The R in "Georgivs" was left out in error and it is a well documented variety.
