Quote:I have a feeling that the dip in price right now on the bay is because of an over supply on ebay and is temporary. Zero reason for that much difference in price. Matter of fact it was easier to get Truman's with the 5/per than Ike's

Remember the Trumans dipped to 125 then the 70s started showing up and they went up to 200 right before Ike dropped.
Once everyone gets their 69s back they will buy more raw sets. Then once Kennedy drops both will rise further.
These are just my opinions..

May also be that due to how the mint site acted many collectors gave up on the series since they couldn't get all of them and weren't going to pay almost 4x what the mint sold them for? Just wondering since I am bored lol

doesn't matter if trumans went back up to 200. Barely anyone is buying it. It can be 4000, if not many are buying them, its value is 0 until there's a realized gain.

I think it has everything to due with the hh limits and the fact that truman was a surprise and at 5 hh alot of collectors are holding multiples while ike was not a surprise and had a ton of first time flippers joining the mix. Also, why aren't we seeing more 70s yet? There could be a high perception of low quality with these ikes. But 17k is 17k so in the long run today is meaningless. The next few weeks will be interesting indeed though and then we get to see how kennedy plays out and how it effects truman and ike... Fun times ahead for sure!

I would disagree...it is not a BIN with no hits...these are completed sales last raw set sold ("realized gain"}were: $199.45, $229.95, $209.50, $200, $205 They are buying what is offered...no clue what you are referring to

I think the price took a dip because there are more people selling them than the Truman. About the same availability, but more sellers and more listings. It's a whole lot of people pricing their BIN at a couple dollars lower than what they see active. What they don't realize is that these and the Truman set will always be in short supply. In 20 years, new collectors will be amazed that you own one.

Quote: Maybe it's just me but, no insult intended, I just cannot grasp the mindset that would make me order just one set when, just as easily, I could have ordered two. I cannot speak for the other 2999, but the simple answer is that I am a collector and only wanted (or needed) one set. I could have paid for my one set by flipping another, but that is not who I am. It would especially bother me when so many others who wanted this set had to do without, or worse, had to pay a lot more when their only crime was being a few minutes late. I did not buy an extra set because I know exactly how I would have felt had I been unable to get one set. My empathy is what informs my behaviour.

Not looking for any argument Jbuck, but what would your thought have been instead of only ordering your 1 set, you ordered the max HH limit and then sold them for cost here on the website. If you are lucky enough to get yours in, perhaps to help fellow CCF collectors who missed the chance it would be a good thing for you to order the HH limit? Just an idea, by no means am I judging you or anyone for their collecting style.

My main issue would be having to ship something back out, with all the risks involved. I would rather not have to worry about that. However, I must say that was not a bad question to ask.

It could be that many of the single set orders were people that were in such a rush that they accidentally forgot to change the quantity.
