Here is my 1867 3 cent nickel. I picked it up about 14 years ago on a whim. In Chicago I think. LOL

The kid and I both think it is F-12. Probably details because of the green stuff around Liberty's mouth and surface porosity. We had to give it a quick acetone dip because it had some sort of yellow residue on the back covering the III.

Do you guys think a longer acetone soak might be in order?

Hmmm the reverse is strangely difficult to photograph. I can see a couple full lines and parts of the rest in the numerals

definitely soak overnight or longer if need be.

The obverse looks like it has enough detail to make VF-20, but the reverse does not.

F-15.
