I started punching pennies into an album back in 1994. Even started my first type collection of sorts (still have the framed board in my dinning room) that year. I didn't truly take it seriously until 2005, which is when I started working for Gypsy Wind Antiques. I put my entire collection in flips and added quite a few coins that year. The owner of Gypsy Wind Antiques took me down to the local coin shop and introduced me to the owner as well that year. It has been so much fun!

I first started collecting around 2007/2008, when I began filling a State Quarter folder from pocket change. However, it wasn't until a few years ago that I seriously got into the game, discovering the treasures that can be found roll searching.

I came across CCF about a year into "serious" collecting, and it has greatly fueled my knowledge of the hobby. I don't know what I would have done without you guys!

30+ years or so. My collection is a life's worth of work. Never sold it. I have almost every coin I ever bought or gifted to me. I've sold a handful of "bad purchases" I made in the early years. Probably less than 8-10 coins. I like to scatter shoot. I bought Buffalo nickels, classic head large cents, seated liberty half, Capped Bust quarter, and a draped bust half all last week. I like them all! Sometimes the only thing that keeps me working is so I can continue to buy coins.

Apparently at age 4.
I did a talk at school aged 7.
So I guess 50 years.
I was buying from my teens and upped the anti when disposable income became available.
Liquidating a load over the next few years and concentrating on farthing varieties copper/bronze back to 1672.I have the complete set including many varieties already.
Other UK/foreign/hammered/Ancient type set must be top grade.
The rest is going.

I started collecting around 2000. My great grandmother was getting up in her age and gave to me 8 Walking Liberty halves. My mother took me to a local Barne's and Noble and bought me a Walking Liberty half folder to put them in (I still have it with those halves still in it). While I was at the bookstore I saw they had folders for EVERY type of coin so I bought them all. Started filling in the holes from my parent's pocket change and eventually moved into buying them from local dealers and off ebay. Still doing it today.

Edit: Also wanted to point out that most of my purchases have been bulk. 250, 500, 1000 coin lots off ebay so I have thousands of coins but not much quality.

That makes you at least three years older than me.
