1929 High 9 MS-63? - Coin Community Forum

doctorman1941 Pillar of the Community Canada 504 Posts	Posted 07/18/2015 10:19 pm A lot of sellers on ebay are selling medium high 9 cents for a true high 9. This is a graded coin and I disagree with the grade and it being a high 9. Hope the copper guys will chime in on this one as its selling for over 2 grand.The last photo is my coin so look at the first9 compared to the last 9. Report this Post to the Staff

Smallcentguy Pillar of the Community Canada 1984 Posts	Posted 07/19/2015 11:31 am Sure doesn't look like MS63 to me. This one has been for sale for a while....way overpriced even if it was MS63. All these look like high 9s to me. I am not sure that there currently is an "official" description of what constitutes a high 9 (maybe SPP will determine one in the new Charlton!). But for me, if the bottom of the tail on the last nine is on a straight line with the bottom of the 2 then I call it a high 9. Report this Post to the Staff

The die that I think is considered a "high 9" has a thinner second 9, as you can see in the one for sale. I'm not sure what others consider a high 9, but based off of what I know, it's the thinner 9.
