found a 1976 1c coin that has turned black but is very shiny any idea of the cause(it isn;t painted)

A bronze coin turned black has probably been through a fire. If it's "very shiny", perhaps somebody tried to clean it afterwards.

Pics might help, if you can?

I agree with Sap. My parents lost there house in a fire a bit over a year ago and many of the copper coins looked similar to what you are describing. Silver coins reacted completely differently (lighter silver/white colour). Pictures would help to say for sure.
