Just an update on what I have been pulling from circulation.

Managed to pull:
2007 10 cents
2007 50 cents (and it's not in a good shape either )
1994 Fuji 50 cents - quite interesting, the planchet is slightly thinner than the aus 50 cents
And then a few nice XF Brissy games coins - it still puzzles me of how "common" they are here especially the condition it is in.
Managed to pull another Royal Visit and the Princess Di. coin

There is an interesting Cud error that I found on the 2 dollar coin - will post it when I finish the insane coursework due tomorrow.

I've noticed generally that I find very few commemerative 50c coins from change; just the odd one here and there. (I actually keep all commems that I find regardless of which one and condition). However, when I get a $10 bag at the bank to search through, usually about 40% of them are commems of some kind. Does anyone else find this to be true?

That's wierd NEAesculus, I get more commemorative 50 cents here from my change, perhaps 60-40% or even higher. There must be a lot more collectors in your area

Hmmm, Today... OK, Australian stuff is not REALLY my thing, but since pulling that 1991 20c Proof from circulation the other month, I have started to gather things together; hardly a collection, but yeah, trying to get all the BASIC decimal stuff in VF or better ATM (which I have most bases covered)... But today, hmmm...

1. 2001 ACT 50c - VF
2. 1988 Cook 50c - gVF
3. 2001 Coat of Arms - gVF (will replace the uglier one I currently have)
4. 1974 20c with what appears to be a cracked plachet
5. 2007 10c - almost UNC
6. 2007 $2 - almost UNC
7. 1993 10 'Something' (i think its Greek) - gEF (as a 5c piece!)

AND, found at the Bus Stop, 1941 Penny! Not quite VF. Now, I know SFA about Australian stuff, still learning, but there appears to be some sort of two letter mint mark above the Roo tail; CC or GG... Must go read the Pre-Dec forum I guess...

But that is today in change...

I agree with gxseries on the % of commems in change, for me it's about about 40%.

Today one added one coin to my growing Decimal collection:

1. 2001 Centenary of Federation 20c WA - VF

I got to admit, the 2001 Centenary of Federation 20c and 50c sets were kinda cool... I really should have had the brain to find myself a good UNC set of each way back in 2001. But hey, I'm new to Australian stuff; until a few months back, it was just what I bought a meat pie with!

G'day, saw my first 2007 $2 yesterday, a lovely specimen to keep.
Already had APEC $1 and 20-cent.
Haven't seen 5-, 10-, nor 50-cent yet.

Worse - I pulled out another 5 2007 50 cents coins today and I spent them all straight away. I'm just furious that I'm getting too much new change - it's getting hard to get any 50 cents coins that were struck pre 2000 and I'm serious!

Edit - the only exception is, I'm getting a crazy amount of XF Brissy commonwealth coins. How that works is beyond my understanding.
