SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 08/10/2015 12:26 pm Jealousy forbids. The original images are indicative of the effect of a high-density yet high-quality dSLR sensor. There are so many receptor sites on the sensor that it's capable of resolving the tiny irregularities on the coin's surface which are reflecting light the "wrong" way. 24-50MP on an APS-C sensor means diffusion or graininess, your choice. You can ameliorate the effect by shooting RAW and removing chroma noise in postprocessing, but it's at the cost of ultimate sharpness. Report this Post to the Staff
