Mercury dimes are a nice beginning set too. Easily obtainable, and only a few key dates. You are also putting 90% silver away.

Cherry Pickers Guide is handy.

The Official Red Book.

And 'Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand puts everything in perspective, not quite as long as 'Atlas Shrugged' although both have insights as if she saw our nanny state coming.
