Looking for varieties in my "Junk Silver" pile, I found this 1963 Franklin half dollar with what I think is a mouth clash. In the Cherrypicker's Guide it says it is a Rarity-7 on the scale. I was wondering if it was the variety.

The clash I think I see is diagonal on the upper lip.

Thank you for reading.

Clashed dies on the typical Franklin half involve the transfer of the small eagle design element on the reverse to the obverse. This gives Franklin a look like "Bugs Bunny" or "Dracula" with protruding front teeth.

Your anomaly does not look like that and I would suggest looking at the reverse and seen if there are any clash marks to be found in and around the eagle.

BJ Neff - OK. Thank you, and I will look at the reverse.
