I agree with SuperDave that the price paid may be a little too much as I recently sold a nice one in a NGC holder MS63 on ebay for $199. I was happy to sell the coin as there were lots of 1884 cc ms63 for sale on ebay. I put the money into a 1884 cc ms64 DMLP CAC that I paid $564.

It does seem kind of high, just looking at the usual pricing sources.

I'm sorry, that's not the price I paid. I actually won it in a raffle for $62.50! I was just trying to ascertain its fmv.

I would say fair value is $175 plus 10% for the old holder, so $190ish.

Those are awesome fun and a great way to raise money. I would have stepped up to buy a handful of tickets with prizes like that.
