With silver taking another leg down, I made an impromptu buying trip today to a couple of pawn shops that usually have rounds or NCLT. It turned out both had already been wiped out of any bullion inventory. The long drive wasn't a total waste, though, because in one I espied this coin in his "reject" tray from which he only expects to realize a nominal premium over precious metal value. At his asking price of $14, I didn't bother to dicker.

It's unappealingly baggier than it appears in the images, whch is probably why it was being sold as "junk", but has full mint luster (I'm trying a new lighting trechnique in photographing "blazers" like this) You may also note a faint fingerprint behind Liberty's cap.

Also scooped up an uncirculated 1922 Peace for the same amount, I'll be putting that one up over in the VAM subforum.

Lighting seems to be hiding what the luster and surfaces really look like. Can you try moving the coin to a different angle in some new shots?

I appreciate that you are trying out a new photographic technique, but same as before, I will not grade from these kind of shots. The funky contrast makes it very difficult to get an accurate assessment of the surfaces of the coin, and thus, impairs the ability of individuals to grade from your images.

Sorry,
Rob.
