so even in his announcing them as souvenirs you feel that there are those who would be duped and make the purchase thinking they found rare coins for pennies on the dollar? If ebay will allow it there is not much that can be done.
I like how they thought to put them under different seller id's too. Don't they need to have COPY on them in order to be sold regardless if they say souvenir in the description.
With the bids the second one is receiving, obviously someone thinks it's real. The description of hand-worked souvenir is so vague that someone might think the seller didn't know what they had.
I reported both of them.
As for needing to say COPY on them, since ebay no longer monitors the coin sections (or just about any section that doesn't list a trademarked name) these fakes continue and will continue forever.
There is simply no way to stop them. It would take a platoon of gov agents doing nothing all day (and night) but running down these counterfeits to even put a dent in the number that are coming here every day.
As I've said before, in order to pay our "debt" to China, I think we should gather up all these fake US coins they have sent us and pay them back with those!
