Some people are lovers and some are haters I guess but most seem to agree NCS did an excellent job restoring some beauty to this rare coin.

When I look at the scratches on the obverse, it appears to be more circulation rub, than hairline scratches from cleaning. I would hope that NGC would have given the coin a AU Details grade if the hairline scratches appear to be from a cleaning. Hairline scratches should not have caused by the conservation process.

Quote: From the linked certification page? I didn't realize those images were downloadable. I tried it a couple of times, and a pop-up appears telling me the images are the property of NGC.

Impressive results! But I'm surprised it did not get a details grade. Anyway, congrats to you!

Coming to this late ...
For me ... I would be very happy with the results.
As was posted, this coin went from a negative to a very collectable coin.
Where is would be interesting to hear the professional graders thoughts on how the grade was determined it is what it is.
And as always, it is very hard to grade coins like this from a picture. I feel it will better in hand.

In my eyes, This sheds a whole new light on "conserving" coins. I think they did a excellent job. I think it will look even better in hand. Those hairlines could just be minor wear. As suggested by the AU grade.
